If you thought Obama’s reelection meant the end of Runway to Win and Anna Wintour’s political fundraising efforts, you were wrong (man, she’s really still gunning for that ambassadorship isn’t she? Just kidding…).
Anna Wintour helped launch the collection last year by rallying CFDA designers to create Obama-themed merchandise, the proceeds of which would benefit Obama’s reelection campaign. The initiative caught flack from snarky conservatives, but went on to raise a whopping $40 million for Obama, so it makes sense that the organization would want to keep the money flowing by releasing another collection, even though Obama’s already been reelected.
Proceeds from the new merchandise, including designs by Prabal Gurung, Tory Burch, Vera Wang and more, will instead benefit the President’s Inaugural events, like the National Day of Service on the National Mall, People reports. Click through to see the full collection, which you can shop here.
