WWD is reporting that the wardrobe of the late Vogue Italia editor and style icon, who passed away in 2012, will find a permanent home at Milan's Fabbrica Del Vapore culture center.

The decision to put the collection, which will include both clothing and accessories (and hats!), on display was made in collaboration with Milan's municipality and Piaggi's family, who are both keen on preserving Piaggi's unique legacy.

In a partnership with the Italian Fashion Chamber, experts from the London College of Fashion are expected to curate and organize the archives, alongside fashion students from Milano Fashion Institute. An organization will also be set up to honor Piaggi's legacy.

“It’s really fundamental to keep the collection in Milan and exalt it, because it represents a real gem of Italian cultural heritage,” said Milan’s culture councilor Stefano Boeri.

If all goes well, Boeri said, this exhibition could lead to a full-fledged fashion museum in the city.

The exhibition is expected to be open to the public in just a few weeks--just in time for Milan fashion week, and will no doubt attract many a well-dressed editor.

Obviously we can't wait to check it out!
