Hair (Luigi Murenu for John Frieda): Zac Posen mussed up his girls just a teeny bit this season, in the form of a chignon with texture. The secret? Crimp the hair before you twist. “[Crimping] creates shapes very nicely and it’s very controversial in a way, not straight and not curly,” Murenu said.

Makeup (Kabuki for MAC): “The fit model for the clothes looked a lot like Tilda Swinton, so I wanted to bring that stripped down element but still keep the glamour and excitement,” longtime Posen collaborator Kabuki said. Be careful when using white powder on the eyes though. “Something like this white could photograph scary, so it’s more vanilla,” he said. The jewel in this look? That killer burgundy lip. And yes, it was 90s inspired.

Nails (Michelle Saunders for Essie): Posen loves his girls in matching lips and tips, and Essie’s “Carry On” did the job nicely.
