Beauty Experts Predict the Biggest Runway Trends for Fall 2013

Smoky eye at Jeremy Scott, brows at Burberry, lashes at Gucci

Eyes/Lashes/Brows:

Alexis Page, MAC’s Director of Global Product Development, had tons of insight into what we can expect to see on runways. While spring was notable for its blue eye shadow trend and the now-ubiquitous strong brow, here’s what you can expect from runway peepers this season.

Eyes: We’ll likely see an evolution of the smokey eye. Instead of black and grey, makeup artists will be using more “blackened” colors (above at left), like jewel tones. The overall effect is still sultry, but not as harsh.

Lashes: Fluttery, full long lashes are here to stay. (Page admits that she loves Kardashian style lashes.) We can also expect to see custom lash looks using cut up falsies.

Brows: While runway brows tend to be either bleached to oblivion or Cara-esque, we’ll probably see less of the former. “I don’t see any sign of the super strong brow fading,” Page said.
