Would you like to see David Beckham run around in his underwear dripping wet? Of course you would.
Beckham’s latest commercial for his H&M underwear line went online today. At 1:30, the spot is longer than some commercials (triple the length it was intended to be, in fact), but we doubt you’ll complain.
Director Guy Ritchie, who only takes on one commercial a year, said in a release that the ad “Felt more than a campaign; it was like directing a short film.” In the spot, Beckham is a kind of action hero-dad, racing through Beverly Hills on slippered-foot and swimming through one pool to reclaim his bathrobe after it gets caught in the SUV taking his kids to school.
Beckham’s new range for H&M is meant to mimic the superhero theme of the ad. New colorways include dark navys, reds, and utility greens.
“I hope everyone has as much fun watching the film as I had making it,” Beckham said. I think it’s safe to say everyone will.
