Kim Kardashian may be in the midst of a high fashion makeover (kourtesy of Kanye), but that doesn't mean every designer has embraced her as much as she's been embracing them.

Nicola Formichetti, he of Gaga and Mugler fame, styled Kardashian for the latest issue of Elle, which, while perhaps an unlikely pairing, is not exactly shocking--last September, Into the Gloss learned that Formichetti was emailing with Kardashian: “I saw a picture of her wearing my dress, and I wouldn’t have necessarily seen her being that kind of girl—it’s usually the eccentric girls wearing these clothes—but she looked fucking amazing," he said. "I emailed her straight away, and sent her a bag yesterday.”

However, other designers were not as enthused by the prospect of Kardashian wearing their clothes. From Elle:

He [Formichetti] admits that dressing Kardashian posed “a challenge” for him. “People wouldn’t lend me the clothes. But that’s fashion snobbery.”

Or maybe everyone just sent all their good samples to Vogue for Beyoncé.

Formichetti wouldn't say which designers refused to lend him clothes, but Tom Ford, Sister by Sibling, David Yurman, Oscar de la Renta, Giusseppe Zanotti, Roberto Cavalli, Viktor & Rolf are all featured in the spread (which you can see here) so I guess we can count them among Kardashian's fans.

See below for a behind the scenes video in which Kardashian calls working with Formichetti "a dream come true." Is it weird that we kind of love them together?
