Fur-Hawks Hit the Runway at Fendi

When I woke up this morning and hit my Twitter feed (sadly, the second thing I do after making coffee), people in Milan were abuzz about Karl Lagerfeld's fur-heavy fall Fendi show. Even the sunglasses and shoes were furry! But what caught my attention were the fur faux-hawks--which I'm now dubbing "fur-hawks."

Hair guru Sam McKnight gave all the models a tight braid and topped the look off with colored fox fur mohawks. Makeup artist Peter Philips completed the posh punk vibe with a deep purple lip color. The overall effect? Bad. Ass. Even the cherubic-faced Lindsay Wixson looked tough.

I have a few concerns about trying this look in real life, though: First, PETA may try to throw red paint at your head. Second, while this look is infinitely better than fur merkins, let's not make it the more-expensive sister of the dreaded feather extension trend of 2011. I think it needs to stay on the runway.
