If you were getting your hopes up about seeing Kate Upton strut down the fall runways, let us dash them for you: It’s not happening.
You see, Upton has obligations to Sports Illustrated, which launches its swimsuit issue the same week as New York Fashion Week. But Upton tells The Cut that she’s just fine with that. “Fashion shows were just never part of my goals,” she said, joking that she might be too “lazy” for the runway. “It’s not that I don’t like them. It’s just that I never really found the need to walk in them.”
“Not a lot of people know what happens in the fashion world, and what it even means,” she continued. So despite all those articles to the contrary, it sounds like Kate is just fine in her swimsuit-modeling, Dougie-dancing, popsicle-sucking world.
And don’t expect her to take advantage of that “juice cleanse” discount; when asked about it, she simply responded, “That sounds horrible.” Kate’s looking forward to watching the Super Bowl—as well as the premiere of her big Mercedes Benz commercial—with her family. Since she has to work the next day, she’ll abstain from nachos. But she’s not happy about it.
“I’m very disappointed, but I can’t splurge,” she said. “I hate exercising self-control.”
