At the tail end of a very long Oscars ceremony came a very welcome surprise: Michelle Obama!

The First Lady lent Jack Nicholson a hand in announcing the Oscar for Best Picture looking appropriately glamorous in a custom silver Naeem Khan gown that she wore earlier that evening to the Governor’s Dinner at the White House. This marks the first time a First Lady has presented an Oscar.
