When we wrote about Novis as a label to wach, we hadn’t even seen Jordana Warmflash’s designs in person. And now that we have, we’re even more excited about this young–but very sophisticated–line.

This time, Warmflash’s cocktail and formal attire was inspired by Richard Avedon’s photography from Paris in the ’50s and ’60s. “Clean lines, but there’s always a little bit of whimsical,” said Warmflash, wearing a dress from the collection with a print inspired by buildings in Paris.

The influence of that time period was hard to miss in a leopard print skirt suit, car coats, pleated skirts, tea-length dresses and ruby-colored cigarette pants–all of which looked impossibly chic. The evening dresses were truly stunning and I counted more than one viable red carpet look.

The collection was timeless, elegant and sweet–a refreshing respite from the often dark and trend-driven NYFW.
