Salvatore Ferragamo designer Massimiliano Giornetti showed a sexy, pared-down collection with a subtle sixties vibe for fall 2013.
It was the perfect backdrop for the real focus of the collection: The leather goods. Pointy toe boots with cut-outs and lacing up the back, lacy pointy-toe stilettos (sure to be a hit with Carine Roitfeld, who was sitting front row) and bare t-strap sandals. Purses were ladylike and boxy, or oversized and slouchy, and made with supple crocodile or leather in black, white and navy.
Giornetti also stuck to that minimalist trifecta–black, white or navy–in the clothes palette. The dress silhouette was short and sixties-inspired with many looks being styled with turtlenecks. It was wearable and retail-savvy–though certainly not without its designer thrills. Giornetti showed his prowess in subtle details like a diagonal zipper transversing a ponyskin mini dress, or multiple sheer-overlays and a turtleneck on a sleeveless black dress.
