Treat Yo’Self to… a Cat Spa Day
Let’s face it, a cat spa day is less for Fluffy and more for you. In a city where cats are revered, luxury amenities at spas run the gamut from normal (cat nail trim), slightly weird (anal gland expression), luxurious (cat condos), playful (kitten jungle gym), to a little weird (blueberry facials).
When I called Happy Tails Cat Grooming in Brooklyn, they promised to pamper and love my imaginary long-haired, Persian cat named Carine. For three hours, Carine would be trimmed, treated to an ear cleaning, hot oatmeal bath (“The cats looooove this,” I was told), a full body massage, de-tangling, and either a blueberry or oatmeal facial, designed to remove food stains about the mouth. The price for pampering your cat: $71. The price for keeping Fluffy’s pores clear: Priceless.
