• Moisturize often and before your hands get too dry. Carry your favorite hand lotion with you and try to apply it five or six times daily. Yes, that sounds like a lot, but once a day just won’t do the job. A lotion with SPF will also help prevent sun damage and aging. • If your hands have cracks that are tender, petroleum jelly is a lifesaver. It will replace oils, act as a sealant, and trap moisture inside the skin. (It also does wonders on your lips, heels, and elbows.) • When washing your hands, scrub just the palms and use warm, not hot, water.
