When the Chanel fall 2013 collection came down the runway, we spent a lot of time looking at those fuzzy hats, trying to place where we’d seen them before. They weren’t unlike a fluoro version of something medieval you’d see on the Bayeaux Tapestry (history nerd alert!) but no, that wasn’t quite it. Then it hit us:
