If you read this site then you already know: We’re all pretty big fans of H&M’s higher priced Marni-esque brand COS. It’s only available at stores in select European cities and it’s basically an affordable mash-up of Marni, Jil Sander, and Celine. Along with the Alaïa outlet, it’s always a shopping destination for the fashion pack during Paris fashion week. (For us, it’s more like COS and Monoprix–they have cute clothes sometimes swear!)
Anyway, in a WWD article today announcing H&M’s expansion in the US (over 40 new stores will open across the country in the coming year) comes this little tidbit from Daniel Kulle, U.S. president of H&M: “COS for sure will be in America. We’re looking for an opportunity to open COS.” He also hints that there may be room in the US market for H&M’s latest launch, touted “luxury” brand & Other Stories, as well as Cheap Monday (which has awesome denim).
So there’s no date set yet for when COS will come stateside but it’s actually happening.
Another update from H&M? US e-commerce, which was originally slated to launch last fall, will launch this summer.
