Despite the fact that I get to play with trendy beauty products for a living, the truth is that I am actually not that adventurous when it comes to, well, color. A pink lip? Once in a while. A blue eye? Yeah, don't count on it.

Instead I focus on the best neutrals and basics I can find. Because even though I don't like colors, I do like makeup and am a firm believer in its powers of transformation.

While Bobbi Brown definitely pioneered natural-looking nude palettes, Urban Decay has taken them to the next level with their gazillion-selling "Naked" eye palettes. As the name suggests, this Naked Basics palette strips away all the bells and whistles--and glitter. Except for one shimmery highlighter color, it's a true matte palette that never fails to make me look more awake and put together. It's the ultimate no-makeup makeup.
