Rihanna is a well-known fan of Riccardo Tisci, wearing his designs for Givenchy both onstage and off–and now the pair is continuing its mutual love fest. Tisci designed a custom Givenchy couture wardrobe for the pop star for her new Diamonds World Tour, which kicked off over the weekend.
According to WWD, we can expect to see a ruffled cape paired with thigh high white leather boots, a parka with a “gold bullet motif,” and mini-shorts/leather bra ensembles. Everything is accessorized with lots of gold, including “couture goggles.” Givenchy calls the costumes “a symbol of female empowerment and urban haute couture elegance.”
“Rihanna represents what young and amazing means today,” Tisci told the trade. “She is punk and talented. She offers intelligence, energy and pure beauty. She is the face of her generation.”
Givenchy famously outfitted Madonna for her Super Bowl performance last year–not to mention Kanye in his infamous kilts–so Tisci obviously has a sense of what makes for a good stage look.
