So how did I pull off this super cute spring look? Let me break it down:

The clothes: When it comes to looking put-together when the temps are on the up, nothing beats a shorts suit--another mega-trend this season. I love this one's fun print, which is just faded enough to keep from overwhelming me. Paired with a chiffon blouse, it's sheer perfection.

Matchy-matchy not your style? Banana Republic has a ton of other pastel options to choose from, in stores now. From cotton candy blazers to sorbet-inspired skinny jeans, you really can't go wrong!

The add-ons: A large convertible clutch in a neutral metallic is key for an editor. I'm always carrying around so much, an extra roomy bag is totally necessary--and its versatility makes it perfect for holding in any situation. As for shoes, you can't beat a great pair of pointy flats--or two! Switching silver for neon pink can change your whole look.

The makeup: What better way to offset pale pastels than with a bright pink lip? To get the look, we combined a cream stain with tinted lip balm--when you mix sheer and high pigment you get a color impact that isn't too strong. As for my skin, we wanted it to look perfect (who wouldn't?) but breathable, using a very light, barely-there foundation and pink blush.

Nails: In spite of living in the city, I'm a huge nature lover (I actually collect birds' egg shells from my yard at home!). What better way to incorporate my other interests than with some speckled egg nails? They're definitely a conversation-starter, and coordinate with my outfit to a t.
