Gwyneth Paltrow Is People's Most Beautiful Woman

"When I first heard that I was gonna be on the cover of People's Most Beautiful issue I honestly thought someone was playing a joke on me and I had to reread the email three times, like, this can't be true! I've developed dislexia, I can't be reading this right," the modest GOOPy goddess reveals--though obviously it would be an impossibility for someone as practically perfect in every way as Paltrow to develop a learning disability.

Is Gwyneth Paltrow, as Prince so aptly puts it, "the reason that God made a girl?" According to People, she is. Despite earning the title of the "most hated celebrity in Hollywood" (according to a poll by Star), the forty-year-old actress, soft-rock star wife, and mom of two has just been named the mag's "World's Most Beautiful Woman" of 2013.

"When I first heard that I was gonna be on the cover of People's Most Beautiful issue I honestly thought someone was playing a joke on me and I had to reread the email three times, like, this can't be true! I've developed dyslexia, I can't be reading this right," the modest GOOPy goddess reveals--though obviously it would be an impossibility for someone as practically perfect in every way as Paltrow to develop a learning disability.

Aging has altered Paltrow's definition of beauty, from a "Barbie doll" ideal in her 20s to seeing the "true wisdom and true insight" within a person. She says the Tracy Anderson Method workout regime, which she partakes in five days a week, is like "brushing my teeth." Husband Chris Martin is so used to seeing his wife in "baggy shorts and frizzy hair" that, when she actually does make herself up, he exclaims jovially, "Oh, wow! You're Gwyneth Paltrow!" to which Paltrow replies, "and who are you again?" And the whole room erupts in fits of laughter.

Paltrow graciously shares the "iconic" magazine cover with fellow beauts Kerry Washington and Jennifer Lawrence, along with two accused murderers. (We're kidding! But not really.) The issue lands on newsstands this Friday.
