Well established milliner seeks experienced Sales/Marketing Coordinator with a background in fashion, fashion merchandising, or the arts. Candidate must be an energetic and resourceful self-starter, with the ability to articulate designer's vision to various contacts in the fashion industry. The position has great potential for growth. Tracy Watts Inc is a small milliner specializing in innovative collections of handmade men’s and women’s designer/contemporary hats. Full lines, designed twice a year, are intended to update a classic look with a contemporary finish.
The Coordinator will work closely with Tracy Watts in her Brooklyn studio, developing full knowledge of the product, and provide clients and media with information to execute sales and build brand awareness. Some wholesale experience working with buyers for boutiques and high level department stores (international and domestic) is essential. Regular duties will include: contacting boutiques, researching new stores, compiling/designing mailers on a weekly basis, maintaining regular contact with active, new and potential customers, and conducting NY based trade shows (set-up, breakdown, visual presentation, contracts, floor selling, new accounts, customer follow-up).
The ideal candidate will be personable, present them self with a sophisticated ease, and play the role of an honest design collaborator. A sense of humor, independence, and a strong focus on the growth of the business is essential. Proficiency with MS Word, Adobe Illustrator and Design Suite and Contact Database Management software (eg. Mail Chimp, iContact) is required. Salary commensurate with experience.
