Sure, Rivers takes aim at everyone on her show Fashion Police--always with a good dose of humor. But with Anna Wintour, it kind of sounds personal. According to Page Six, Rivers sounded off on the Conde Nast creative director/Vogue EIC for taking fashion too seriously. “Anyone who takes it seriously is a fool,” she said. "Anna Wintour, just take your broom and stick it up your ass."
Firstly, if Anna Wintour even has a broom we doubt she knows where it is. And secondly, if it's anyone's job to take fashion too seriously, it's Wintour's.
Rivers also went off on Wintour a year ago, criticizing her Obama fundraising dinners. She told The Hill,
Anna Wintour’s Democratic fundraiser for $40,000 a plate is a little bit of an oxymoron. I think if you’ve got $40,000 to eat dinner, and Anna Wintour — who doesn’t eat — already you shouldn’t be a Democrat. You should be a Republican.
Rivers also called Wintour's Obama commercial "an abomination." And in a New York Times interview, she joked that Sacha Baron Cohen’s The Dictator was "based on the Anna Wintour biography."
Rivers's shots at the fashion industry are definitely funny at times, but in this case we think we're Team Anna. You?
