For all you Twilight fans out there who miss seeing Robert Pattinson’s face plastered all over town, we have good news for you: After many months of rumor and speculation, Dior has just confirmed that R-Patz is the new face of the Dior Homme fragrance.
Rumors first started swirling back in October that Pattinson had signed on as a face of the brand–for a whopping $12 million. Dior denied it at the time, but then a few weeks ago the rumor was reignited at Cannes, thanks to a press kit in which the director of photography for All Is Lost listed a Dior campaign with Pattinson among his credits. And now Dior has finally confirmed that it’s happening, according to WWD. (No confirmation on how much Pattinson was paid, though.)
Photographer Nan Goldin and director Romain Gavras shot the campaigns, but it sounds like you may have to travel abroad to get a look at it. According to Dior, the ads will run in Europe (but not the UK) and Asia (but not China or Japan). No word on the US market, but we’d be surprised if R-Patz’s brooding mug didn’t pop up in a few American glossies.
Let’s just hope editors keep the Dior ads away from Kristen Stewart’s Balenciaga Florabotanica ads. Awkward.
