Gothamist first picked up the story--though they failed to identify Kloss--and gave two options: Daft Punk is either filming a music video, which would make sense since they just released their new album Random Access Memories, or they're filming a commercial. The Cut, who of course ID'd Kloss (fashion people would recognize those legs anywhere), also seems to think the mystery project is a music video.
These are all totally plausible theories, but we'd like to posit one more: The trio are shooting an editorial--likely for a September issue. And, if we had to guess, we'd say it's for Vogue.
Here's why: As we all know, Vogue loves to feature pop culture sensations (or you know national heroes)--preferably alongside a leggy model. Diddy has been featured countless times in such shoots. MGMT, Vampire Weekend, and of course female sensations like Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Madonna have also all gotten spreads. Daft Punk, as far as we can tell, hasn't been featured in the fashion bible yet; it seems like they're due for their Vogue debut--and Kloss, of course, is one of Vogue's favorite models.
And, if you look closely at the pictures, you can see that Kloss changes her outfit a few times--first she's in a long-sleeve maxi dress, and later she's in a short mini with gold pailettes. Sounds a lot like a fashion editorial right?
Plus, have you seen her hair and makeup? It has Vogue written all over it.
Of course, this is all speculation at this point so we'll have to stay tuned as this mystery unfolds.
