Alexa Chung recently shared her hair-story with UK mag Stylist--and let's just say we hope it's a sign of what's to come from her forthcoming book, It. In addition to being pretty much every fashion girl's style crush, it turns out Chung is a fount of sage advice--of both the hair and breakup variety.

"Go and kiss loads of other people, but don’t f***ing touch your hair, as you’ll still feel sad – and you’ll have weird hair," Guru Chung says. "Don’t have a fringe cut. Don’t bleach it. Don’t do anything, because you will regret it. Buy a lipstick instead."

Truer words were never spoken.

Chung, of course, is talking hair because she was recently named the new face of L’Oréal Professionnel Inoa color--but, it turns out, this actually isn't the first time she's modeled for the brand. Chung worked a gig for them back when she was 18, and it sounds like they gave her a pretty brutal dye job.

"When I was 18 I was the hair model for a L’Oréal Colour Trophy competition and they dyed my hair the unlikely combination of orange and yellow. Then I dyed it black after that. That’s the craziest I’ve ever had it, and that wasn’t out of choice."

Is her new plum gig as spokesmodel--and access to free hair dye--L'oreal's way of making it up to Chung?
