Alexa Chung recently shared her hair-story with UK mag Stylist–and let’s just say we hope it’s a sign of what’s to come from her forthcoming book, It. In addition to being pretty much every fashion girl’s style crush, it turns out Chung is a fount of sage advice–of both the hair and breakup variety.
“Go and kiss loads of other people, but don’t f***ing touch your hair, as you’ll still feel sad – and you’ll have weird hair,” Guru Chung says. “Don’t have a fringe cut. Don’t bleach it. Don’t do anything, because you will regret it. Buy a lipstick instead.”
Truer words were never spoken.
Chung, of course, is talking hair because she was recently named the new face of L’Oréal Professionnel Inoa color–but, it turns out, this actually isn’t the first time she’s modeled for the brand. Chung worked a gig for them back when she was 18, and it sounds like they gave her a pretty brutal dye job.
“When I was 18 I was the hair model for a L’Oréal Colour Trophy competition and they dyed my hair the unlikely combination of orange and yellow. Then I dyed it black after that. That’s the craziest I’ve ever had it, and that wasn’t out of choice.”
Is her new plum gig as spokesmodel–and access to free hair dye–L’oreal’s way of making it up to Chung?
