Cameron Diaz is taking a break from
making out with Jaime Lannister working on new film The Other Woman to try her hand at working in fashion. So what could it be–A high-end line of boys undies? Teeny tiny bikinis?
Surprisingly, it’s shoes and bags. Diaz has been named artistic director of mid-priced accessories line Pour la Victoire, WWD is reporting.
“I don’t do endorsements really. This is completely different,” says the actress who definitely does do endorsements for Tag Heuer, but who’s counting right?
Still, according to WWD, this will be pretty different than your average celebrity clothing line. Diaz, who owns a stake in Pour la Victoire’s parent company, will be involved with designing both the handbag and shoe collections, as well as merchandising, marketing, and advertising. In fact, Diaz has already made a mark on the company–she was on set for the latest Terry Richardson-shot ad campaign, starring Jessica Hart.
“I’m interested in learning how collections are created,” the actress told WWD. “The word ‘fun,’ I want to say that it’s going to be fun, but it’s deeper than that.”
Diaz’s first collection for the brand won’t hit stores until next spring, but in the meantime she’ll be selecting products for “Cameron’s Picks” this fall and holiday season, and will also be reigning in “friends and associates” to wear the product, according to PLV chief executive officer Chris Nakatani.
So check your mailbox, Drew Barrymore–there’s probably a big box of Pour la Victoire waiting for you.
