If you thought the Brazilian bikini bottom left a little too little to the imagination–well, gird your loins (literally), because swimwear designers debuted an even less substantial style during Miami Swim Week: Yep, we’re talking thong swimwear. Make appropriate waxing arrangements now.
Among some of the brands to throw their weight behind the trend were Minimale Animale, a buzzy Cali brand, Indah, a Bali-based brand, and Poko Pano, a Brazilian label. So, basically, we know this trend’s already got international appeal.
Exposing your butt cheeks not your thing? Don’t worry, the Miami swim designers have you covered there too. Introducing, the front thong. Or, in other words, the insanely, impractically high cut bikini.
Seriously, look at this model from Minimale Animale. Uncomfy-looking right? We wonder if they used double sided sticky tape to ensure everything stayed put…
We can’t imagine too many women are excited about this trend (it’s kind of giving us anxiety, personally)–though Sisqo must be pleased. But real talk: Would you ever sport a thong swimsuit?
