Shiona Turini Leaves CR Fashion Book for Cosmo

When Joanna Coles took the reins at Cosmo just over six months ago--right before the last fashion month--she cleaned house quickly, firing a bunch of staffers to make room for her dream team. Turns out she's not quite finished assembling the masthead. Cosmo has just named Shiona Turini as its new fashion market director.

Turini had been the fashion market and beauty director at CR Fashion Book for the past year, overseeing all fashion, accessories and beauty markets for the mag. Before that, Turini was the accessories director at Teen Vogue, and before that the accessories market editor at W.

Days after assuming her role as editor in chief, Coles told us that she wanted Cosmo to "have a clearer fashion point of view." "I think that’s what it needs," she continued. "I’m looking for the team to do that." Considering Turini's past work experience and her personal style (she's a perennial favorite of the street style photographers), we'd say she's a valuable addition to the team.

Turini stars work on August 7th and will report to Coles and fashion director Aya Kanai.
