When we spotted this Autumn Cashmere sweater in a glossy last weekend, we felt a “pow!” of familiarity in our gut.
Last fall, 3.1 Phillip Lim put out a series of knits with comic book-inspired graphics as part of the pre-fall collection. They were spotted all over editors outside the tents at fashion week and on style blogs. Even Beyonce sported one in a photo she posted to her Instagram. It was such a hit that Lim made a different version of the sweater for his upcoming Target collaboration, which rings in just under $30.
Sure, Autumn Cashmere’s sweater isn’t quite as splashy as Lim’s–and comic book graphics are hardly an original concept (the name Roy Lichtenstein comes to mind)–but we can’t help but feel there was a least a little bit of inspiration there. So you could spend $341 on Autumn Cashmere’s luxe cashmere version, or you can get the (sort-of) original for $29.99.
