An anonymous source, who's either blatantly lying or will do anything to support the pricy, hard-partying lifestyle that goes along with being in Cara Delevingne's inner circle, has alerted the media that the 20-year-old model is currently in the runnings for a role in Fifty Shades of Grey.

According to EntertainmentWise (via The Sun), Delevingne's name has been thrown around for a part in the film adaptation of E.L. James's bestselling soft-core novel that, last year, inspired droves of housewives to stock up on clothes line rope and handcuffs.

"Cara is a front-runner for a part," says said source. "She’s desperate to get the gig and has always said that she wanted to be taken seriously as an actress." Not that a role in Fifty Shades is necessarily what someone wanting to be taken seriously as an actress would be vying for, but... we digress.

Actually, the rumor may not me as unfounded as you think: Delevingne apparently became pals with actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson during the filming of 2012's Anna Karenina. Taylor-Johnson's wife Sam Taylor Johnson is directing the Fifty Shades movie. It's all about who you know, eh? Delevingne is also rumored to have landed a role in an upcoming film about hard-partying young Londoners (which isn't an autobiography, as far as we've heard).

It's unclear what role she's up for, but, says the source, "[Cara's] agent has also been talking to Kelly Marcel, the screenplay writer, and, if needs be, a strong role will be written in for her." Well, she did start off a socialite, after all--maybe her mum's got some riding crops lying around she can get to practicing with...
