Project Runway‘s most successful contestant to date is about to grow his business even further. Christian Siriano, winner of the reality show’s fourth season, is planning to expand his line into a lifestyle brand, including both beauty and eyewear.
According to WWD, the 27-year-old designer has recently signed several contracts to get the beauty ball rolling: One with haircare line Sebastian Professional, which will include a product and package design collaboration and Siriano acting as guest editor for the brand’s social media, and another with The Fragrance Group to produce an apparently already-in-existence scent late next year. He explains, “It’s a little sweet and spicy, and a little bit universal. I didn’t want to have a fragrance that would be a trend.” And Siriano will continue partaking in various collaborations as well, including his ongoing and wildly successful partnership with Payless, telling the trade, “It is of course a goal to be able to one day have each category only on the Siriano label, but there is time for that.”
The designer also plans to introduce eyewear along with his Mexico-inspired Spring 2014 collection, debuting at New York fashion week September 7. Eventually, he wants to offer a larger array of accessories and home goods–some of which are already available at his NYC store and website as a “test” to see if customers will bite. And speaking of stores, Siriano–whose business is currently worth an estimated $5 million and counting–plans to expand his shop count across the country in the next five years.
“Because I started with such a large fan base, I had this [customer] that wanted some type of product of my world,” he tells WWD. If all goes according to his plan, this could very well be Christian Siriano’s world–and we’ll just be living in it…
