This year, New York-based charity God's Love We Deliver is adding a new award named after designer Michael Kors. The first recipient? None other than Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, according to a release.
Kors, who has worked with the organization for over 20 years, was honored at last year's ceremony with their Golden Heart Award for Lifetime Achievement. His dedication to the charity has earned him his own award to give out: the Michael Kors Award for Outstanding Community Service.
For the designer, giving the first-ever Michael Kors Award to Clinton was a no brainer. "I am deeply honored to present Mrs. Clinton with this award that means so much to me," Kors says.
"She is a dedicated and enormously effective humanitarian whose commitment to community service encompasses the whole planet. Thanks to her talent, devotion and unrelenting efforts on behalf of those with much less, she has improved millions of lives and helped lay the foundation for a better, more just world."
Clinton, of course, has had a number of ringing endorsements from the fashion community lately. First, Oscar de la Renta expressed hopes during his CFDA acceptance speech that she would run for president--and win--in 2016. And just last month, Anna Wintour said, “All of us at Vogue look forward to putting on the cover the first female President of the United States."
