K.A. Applegate's Animorphs series was a major part of my life growing up--and for those who know me, it's not really hard to see why. I've always been massively into animals and wildlife, and I was a big reader as a kid. Even though I've never been big on sci-fi or fantasy (I've yet to indulge in Harry Potter, Hunger Games, or Game of Thrones), the idea of being able to transform into an animal at any time seemed like an absolute dream. Maybe then, I'd actually figure out what my gerbils' tiny squeaks were all about...

It's been a while since I last picked up an Animorphs--my extensive series is tucked away somewhere in my parents' cellar--but when I saw that Urban Outfitters is for whatever reason now selling them, I got pretty nostalgic reading the first page of book #2 in the preview. Maybe next time I'm home, I'll have to dust off a copy...
