T Magazine this morning posted a lengthy profile of our girl Victoria Beckham. Amidst all the usual talk about VB’s fashion collections, career ambitions, distaste for smiles, and just how gosh-darn normal the designer formerly known as Posh Spice is (yeah whatever), writer Sarah Lyall really manages to get down to the nitty gritty: Namely, the Beckham family‘s eating habits.
So we thought we’d lay it all out on the table for you… so to speak.
Fun food fact #1: Husband David attended culinary school in Italy while Vic and the kids were living in LA. “David does the cooking,” she says. “He’s really good.”
Fun food fact #2: Yet, despite David’s hidden talent, the fam employs a personal chef (“Chris”) several days a week. Also, Victoria can successfully reheat things. Chris “might make a giant lasagna so I can put it in the freezer and then do it myself,” explains VB.
Fun food fact #3: VICTORIA BECKHAM EATS FOOD ZOMG. She also works out like a maniac. “Yes, she eats,” writes Lyall, “though on the other hand she spends a large chunk of time each day doing a Tracy Anderson workout with a personal trainer.” Mind = blown.
Fun food fact #4: VB serves her minions sushi, while she, herself, prefers to munch like a small rabbit. “[It's] corn soup followed by a salad of greens and fruit for Beckham; sushi for Beckham’s assistant and me,” Lyall reports. Better follow that up with a Tracy Anderson workout.
Fun food fact #5: And perhaps most importantly… Victoria Beckham doesn’t want the world to know she eats food. Writes Lyall: “She declined the suggestion to include a plate of grapes or some such in the picture [for the T piece]. ‘We don’t want anyone to know I eat,’ she said. ‘Why ruin that?’”
Given that sense of humor we recently found out she has, we’re pretty sure Beckham is joking. We hope.
