Yet another reason we can’t wait for J.Crew‘s spring 2014 presentation: We’ve just learned that the brand has teamed up with It-Brit footwear designer Sophia Webster on a capsule collection that, according to WWD, will debut at its New York Fashion Week showing tomorrow.
This is Nicholas Kirkwood-protege Webster’s first-ever big-brand collaboration. Consisting of 12 shoe styles in an array of colors and patterns coinciding with J.Crew’s spring trends, Webster describes the collection as a “hybrid of the two brands” while maintaining her signature whimsical touches–including tassels, embroidered details, and crystals. “The collection is really fun and feminine, very me,” she told WWD. “The brand has a real sense of fun and color that I love, and I think that my designs complement their clothes well.”
As per J.Crew’s Jenna Lyons, Webster’s shoes are “a beautiful world for your feet to spend the day in.”
It was only in June that Webster told us her dream collaboration would be with a very different type of brand–Apple. But we’re betting one with J.Crew wasn’t too far down her list. The collection will launch online and in select J.Crew stores in 2014.
And for the more impatient J.Crew lovers amongst you, the news of this collab also offers up a little sneak peek at J.Crew’s new-season offerings: Bright taffeta fabrics, patent leather, star, floral, and polka dot prints, neon shades, and a palette of blues. Is it too early to start planning our wardrobe for next spring?
