The mention of Mara Hoffman immediately calls to mind funky kaleidoscopic prints, a vibrantly bold color palette and a frequent rotation in any cool-girl’s beach-bound wardrobe. So it’s no surprise that her spring shows are consistently some of her best.
Hoffman shares in the show notes that the upcoming collection “exemplifies the world as seen through Hoffman’s eyes.” And that was literally translated through a range of vivid eye-emblazoned prints found on a sheer, fluttery maxi-dress, slim pencil skirt and a sleeveless blazer and matching trousers outfit. Supporting motifs of transition and evolution were interpreted through serpents drawn into the tropical-patterned mix.
Warm weather-ready silhouettes included flowing spaghetti strapped and cut-out maxi dresses, body-con tunics, a chiffon print-detail caftan, peasant skirts, slouchy trousers, baggy shorts (loved the turquoise one with the matching bomber) and, of course, slinky strategically cut-out one-piece bathing suits that manage to be sexier than a two-piece.
The hair styling also deserves a mention for the funkiest take on a low braid yet—two snakelike braided extensions reaching below the waist, secured with a rainbow of woven ponytail wraps.
