Sigrid Agren, Tao Okamoto, Cora Emmanuel, and 21 other Society Management models worked with husband-and-wife duo Max Snow and Vanessa Traina on a photography and video project that supplements the agency’s spring 2014 show package. The partnership with multimedia artist Snow and stylist Traina marks The Society Management’s second official collaboration with industry creatives; the first, a series of GIF portraits by Santiago & Mauricio, debuted in March.

“After the collaboration ... last season, we were very much interested in doing something a bit pared-down and more grounded,” explained the TSM team via e-mail. “For us, [Santiago & Mauricio] are at the forefront of the digital revolution as it applies to the future of both editorial and advertising, but there are still other sides to beauty and fashion that we have a continued investment in ... Max comes from an art background, and this is something made very clear in his composition even when shooting fashion. Vanessa is probably one of the most promising new forces in the fashion industry, and the juxtaposition of their work is one that resulted in a particular aesthetic and overall feeling that felt right for this season.”

TSM allowed Snow and Traina artistic freedom, so long as they “respect[ed] and expose[d] the individual brand identity of each girl, despite there being a common thread throughout the series.” Snow and Traina passed along that mentality to the models on set. “As for instruction, I actually wasn't given anything specific, which was great because I was able to do what I wanted and really express myself according to how I felt,” remarked Sigrid Agren. “I also loved the white dress I was wearing – it was a very commanding outfit that made me feel quite powerful.” The set of expressive, black-and-white pictures will soon be joined by a Snow-and Traina-produced video. According to TSM, “the interesting thing about the upcoming moving image component to this shoot is that it's surprisingly different in feeling from the stills,” departing from the expectation that both should turn out almost entirely similar.
