Surprised? So was Cyrus, according to a recent interview with Rolling Stone. West saw her VMA rehearsals and approached her before the show. "There are not a lot of artists I believe in more than you right now," he told her. "The whole room went quiet," Cyrus says of the pep talk. "I was like, 'Yo--can you say that again?!'"
It was the start of a beautiful friendship. The two are now "homies" according to the former Disney princess--so close, in fact, that when Cyrus mentioned to West that her fur-lined Celine slippers were falling apart, West bought her five more pairs. Those things retailed for just north of $900, so West must have thought Cyrus looked really dope in them.
And since it's kind of his thing, West is also giving Cyrus style advice now. "Kanye is the shit," she told Rolling Stone. "I kind of have a good relationship with him now. It's good to have someone you can call and be like, 'Yo, do you think I should wear this?' 'Do you think I should go in the studio with this guy?' 'Do you think this is cool?' That's what homies are supposed to do."
Dear Kanye: Homies don't let homies wear black pasties under white mesh tops.
