Where Max Mara is always a bit buttoned up and structured, Sportmax this season was filled with easy to wear pieces women can just throw on and look great in.

Slip dresses and sweatshirts were the backbone of the collection and both probably made it onto a lot of editors' shopping lists. They just looked so appealing and easy.

Each look was either a solid muted color or featured a subtle large polka dot print, which looked ethereal on the collection's many languid calf-length dresses. Bolder polka dots featured later in the show and it was amazing how loud they seemed compared to the prior looks despite just being polka dots. Eventually, there was some really cool-looking black and white polka dot layering, or black mesh over a white dress with black polka dots: an idea that felt fresh and unique despite seeming so obvious.

A lot of designers this season gave their own takes on this easy, minimalist way of dressing; and we think Sportmax totally nailed it.
