You may think your cat is something special--the way it chases string just so, or drinks water out of the fish tank--but has he or she ever inspired a fashion collection? Or how about given an interview? In French? Didn't think so.
But an accessories collection is only half of Choupette's recent PR push. No longer content with letting Karl speak for her, the smartypants Siamese took to French site Gala (then graciously translated by Expose) to give her very first interview. And naturally, she couldn't help but gush about her doting master. (Is this starting to sound a little bit creepy to anyone else?)
"Him (Lagerfeld) and me, it's forever," 'said' Choupette. "We leave the bourgeoisie formalities to the others."
And their travels:
In general, I'm with him when he travels, unless he's coming back on the same day," she purred. "If not, I follow him everywhere: Monte-Carlo, Ramatuelle, New York, Rome, Dallas, etc. He refuses to go to countries with quarantine, as he doesn't want us to be separated. I more often go to Rome and Monte-Carlo.
Choupette also shed light (and... fur?) on her pre-Lagerfeld days with original owner, model Baptiste Giabiconi, an era that until now has been mostly shrouded in mystery.
I was only three months old when he asked Karl to take care of me for 15 days. You know what happened then... Anyway, Baptiste was not organized enough to have a cat.
In other words, he didn't have enough maids:
I am never alone... I can count on my maids Françoise and Marjorie. From the first day, they took care of me with a lot of love and complete devotion. I am cherished, cared for, pampered, and brushed like a princess! Baptiste doesn't have time for that. Without the help of these two adorable women, Karl wouldn't have time to, I have to say.
Well then. Sounds like someone's still a little bitter about being given up. At least now, when she gets cranky, she can always snuggle up for a little cat nap in her official Karl Lagerfeld Choupette scarf until the mood passes.
