As a Seattle native, I’ve pretty much loved Nordstrom since birth. (The department store is headquartered there.) And since I left the Northwest for a city that has everything but a Nordstrom (2018 can’t come soon enough), it has only gotten better.
As if installing mini Topshops into its stores wasn’t amazing enough, it just launched a new ongoing pop-up series called “Pop-in at Nordstrom.” Each pop-up will feature a selection cool stuff sourced by the retailer’s new Director of Creative Projects Olivia Kim (formerly VP of Creative at Opening Ceremony). Today, it’s launched an assortment of all things Parisian with “French Fling.” And it’s right up our alley.
Inspired by Kim’s trip to Paris Fashion Week in March, the merchandise includes things like limited edition Olympia Le Tan book clutches, custom-embroidered Saint James shirts, customized Repetto flats, cute sweatshirts by the likes of Kenzo, APC, and Rodarte, and even vintage accessories. Good, right? We’ve never been so bummed by NYC’s lack of a Nordstrom. Fortunately, it’s all available online, too.
Nordstrom gave us this exclusive time lapse video of a team installing one of the cute pop-ups, which were designed by Rafael de Cárdenas of Rafael de Cárdenas/ARCHITECTURE AT LARGE, with branding by M/M Paris. See below for that and click through the gallery to see the whole “French Fling” collection.
