Wondering what to get Gwyneth Paltrow for Christmas/Chanukah (she's kind of Jewish, right?)? Look no further! Hermès just announced it's launching its very first bicycle--and this one's fit for a GOOPster.
Next month, the French luxury brand will release two ultra-lightweight, carbon filter bike models--Le Flâneur d'Hermès and Le Flâneur sportif d'Hermès--each handmade and available in three colors: charcoal, red, and white.
Hermès's François Doré, who headed the project, told WWD he set out to create "real bike[s], not a decorative object," describing the new models as "simple, efficient, easy to use, pleasant, and elegant." Of course, 'simple' in Hermès terms means bull calf leather saddles, a shock-absorbing frame, belt-driven transmission, hydraulic disc brakes, and the option of eight or 11 gears integrated into the rear wheel hub. (Surprisingly, there's no basket for storing your Birkin on the go.)
Oh, and did we mention it retails for $10,750? Yeah--might not want to toss out your Citi Bike pass just yet.
