When the first weekend of Fashion Month rolls around, we usually expect to see a few of the most high-powered industry players sharing their front row seats with their kids. (Stylist June Ambrose's über-fashionable 9-year-old daughter Summer and Alexander Wang's adorable niece, Aila, are practically style icons in their own right.) But this season there's a new crop of cute and cuddly status accessories populating the shows: pets.

Over the last few weeks, we've spotted an abnormally high number of pets backstage and in designers' showrooms—not to mention a few well-groomed pooches on the runways.

Earlier in Paris, Sydney Wasserman of DuJour magazine snapped a photo of an adorable terrier in the audience at Chanel, along with a grey pup in the crowd at Roland Mouret and a little white pooch at Elie Saab. Dhani captured a canine (accompanied by a very chic human) at the Antonio Marra show in Milan on her Instagram, and she recalls seeing another in the standing section at Roberto Cavalli as well. Fittingly, Cavalli also hung out with his dog backstage at his show. Of course, we can't forget to give some love to the cats: There was a cat caught napping (what else?) in Peter Pilotto's showroom during his market appointments this week.
