Michelle Obama got a high-fashion makeover for another top fashion glossy.
No, she's not on the cover of Vogue again; but has been portrayed by a supermodel in the latest Katy Perry-fronted issue of W, dubbed the "Global Style" issue.
Naomi Campbell channels the First Lady in the Willy Vanderperre-lensed editorial, wearing looks by Nina Ricci, Giorgio Armani, Michael Kors and Prada. She was shot in Ghana.
“It’s a tribute to a modern day First Lady on a state trip, evoking the kind of timeless style that could have existed in the 1940s, '60s, or even today,” stylist Edward Enninful told Page Six.
Enniful also Instagram'd the Page Six story with the caption "@iamnaomicampbell as #FLOTUS @wmagazine November xoxo."
While the nod to MObama is there, this version is definitely more of a risk-taker fashion-wise. Michelle may be more adventurous with prints and more of a champion of up-and-coming designers than past first ladies, but we don't exactly see her parading around Ghana in a lace bra-revealing Armani jacket or Marc Jacobs heeled Mary Janes paired with socks (though now that she's seen Mademoiselle C, maybe she'll up her fashion game). Not that she couldn't pull it off--but we like this fashion fantasy version of Michelle, and the fact that there's now a First Lady other than Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis to inspire fashion editorials.
