In yet another instance of Apple embracing the fashion world, the technology juggernaut has launched a collaboration with Los Angeles-based designer Clare Vivier, purveyor of the leather pouches and other quietly chic accessories we're all obsessed with.
Apple has done a couple of similar collaborations, but none with such a fashion-y name as Vivier's. The news follows the appointments of two former fashion executives to the company's upper-level ranks, as well as a recent partnership with Burberry.
Vivier has designed a range of foam-padded laptop bags in three colorways: cobalt, grey nubuck with red stripe, and black basketweave. I am personally very excited for this because in addition to the 13" and 15" Macbook Pro, the laptop will be available for the 11" Macbook Air (still a tough size to find cases for in my experience).
The designer, whose line actually started with a laptop case, said that with the collaboration, her "design journey has come full circle." They're all made locally in L.A. and range in price from $199.95 to $219.95, which is in line with her usual price points. You can pick one up now from select Apple store locations in New York, San Francisco, L.A., Boston and Toronto.
Vivier seems to be diving head first into the collaboration game this season. She also recently launched one with Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop on a wallet, a duffle and three pouches available now exclusively on Goop.com.
So if you were trying to figure out what to get your girlfriends for Christmas this year, there are a lot of good Clare Vivier options right now.
