Kerry Washington Wears Exact Tracy Reese Dress to Spoof Michelle Obama on SNL

Kerry Washington hosted Saturday Night Live this weekend, bringing the show its highest ratings this season, and naturally the budding style star looked amazing while she did it. (She also fueled -- but didn't comment on -- those pregnancy rumors.) Her first sketch had her appear as First Lady Michelle Obama, and the costume department certainly paid attention to detail.

Kerry Washington hosted Saturday Night Live this weekend, bringing the show its highest ratings this season, and naturally the budding style star looked amazing while she did it. (She also fueled -- but didn't comment on -- those pregnancy rumors.)

Her first sketch had her appear as First Lady Michelle Obama, and the costume department certainly paid attention to detail, as Washington wore the same Tracy Reese dress the FLOTUS wore to the Let Freedom Ring Commemoration this past August. Reese was excited to see the frock make a second appearance. "Of course the Michelle Obama skit was my favorite," the designer told us. "I am so honored that my design was chosen to illustrate a symbolic moment of the First Lady’s style.”

SNL came under fire earlier this season after it added six new cast members, all white, causing cast member Kenan Thompson to comment in a TV Guide interview that the show can "never find [black comediennes] who are ready." The Scandal star played the First Lady in the cold open, which pointedly skewered the lack of racial diversity among the SNL cast. Washington played both MObama and Oprah, and joked that she would also appear as Beyonce, all within a five-minute sketch.

For those of you more interested in the dress, it's still available in a size 0 at Tracy Reese's website for $498.
