Their 2010 collection for the retailer was elegant and dainty, but still quirky, featuring sweet little dresses, deconstructed jackets and oversized-yet-feminine tees. It was also disappointingly small, which won’t be the case this time around. According to Elle UK, this collection, dubbed “The Cherrys,” and inspired by a fictional band of that name, will feature 80 pieces. Influences include Marilyn Manson and glam rock. It will hit Topshop stores on Nov. 21.
Consistently one of our favorite London Fashion Week shows, Meadham Kirchhoff has flown relatively under the global radar with its theatrical, fantastical clothes and shows. However, this latest partnership should help change that. Ever since the designers’ first collaboration with Topshop, the retailer’s U.S. presence has grown significantly, with more freestanding stores as well as Nordstrom shop-in-shops. Not to mention, two of the last few Topshop collaborators — JW Anderson and Christopher Kane — recently received big investments from huge French luxury conglomerates. Could Meadham and Kirchhoff be the next designers to join their ranks?
