Schiaparelli to Debut Couture Collection in January

When former Rochas creative director Marco Zanini signed on to become creative director of Schiaparelli in September, he was lured not only by the opportunity to design and show high-end ready-to-wear for the storied fashion house, but also haute couture. That opportunity will soon be realized.

When former Rochas creative director Marco Zanini signed on to become creative director of Schiaparelli in September, he was lured not only by the opportunity to design and show high-end ready-to-wear for the storied fashion house, but also haute couture. That opportunity will soon be realized: France's Chambre syndicale de la Haute Couture has confirmed that Schiaparelli will be showing at Paris's couture week, which runs from January 20 through the 24th.

In addition to Schiaparelli, two other design houses have been invited to show as guests during couture week: the six-year-old, London-based couture house Ralph & Russo, which specializes in bespoke evening, bridal, cocktail and red carpet wear, and Turkish-born, Belgian-trained designer Serkan Cura, whose one-year-old couture practice has produced many fantastical, feather-adorned garments.
