About four and a half years ago, I was offered an internship here at Fashionista, and since then, I've never really left.

That was back in the early days, when my daily activities included tearing out Vogue Paris editorials and writing haiku about them in Sharpie, and acting as a de facto street style photographer before folks like Tommy Ton and Phil Oh made it a legitimate art form. My editors, Abby and Britt, not only taught me everything I know, but they also trusted me to an insane degree, sending me to cover New York Fashion Week shows during my first days on the job.

In the years since The Best Internship Ever, I've hopped around quite a bit -- from Alexander Wang to Paper to Marie Claire -- but one thing that's stayed constant is my kinship with Fashionista and its brilliant editors. I wrote freelance pieces for our editor at large Lauren when she came on board, and she introduced me to Leah who encouraged me to do the same. While I've felt like a member of the Fashionista family since 2009, I'm so happy to join Stephanie, Lauren and the rest of the awesome team today and make it official.

I'm glad to find that some things haven't changed -- there are still piles of magazines and an endless supply of Diet Coke -- but, with a shiny new office and a full-sized staff, it's clear that, much like myself, Fashionista has grown up. And I couldn't be more excited to be back.

Chances are you'll learn about my love for pop culture, models and music in my posts, and of course, my healthy obsession with the fashion industry and its major players. Have any questions? Find me on Twitter, @alyssavingan -- I can't wait to get to know you.
