Chanel invited fashion’s elite to Dallas on Tuesday for its Pre-Fall 2014 “Metiers d’Art” Show, including industry darlings like Alexa Chung, Dakota Fanning and Lily Collins, as well as Kristen Stewart, who was just announced as the face of this new, cowboy-inspired collection.
The campaign for the Métiers d’Art Paris‐Dallas collection will make its debut in May 2014, and it was shot by Karl Lagerfeld himself. The Kaiser first met Stewart back in 2012, and she’s shown the brand support on a number of occasions since then, including sitting front row at its Fall 2013 Haute Couture show in Paris.
While Stewart’s public appeal has waned since her affair with director Rupert Sanders (who was model Liberty Ross’s husband at the time), she hasn’t lost favor in the fashion community: She’s the current face of Balenciaga’s Florabotanica, and this year she starred on the cover of V Magazine’s spring preview issue. Lagerfeld isn’t the first major designer to consider the tomboyish actress a muse, either – Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler have voiced their admiration of Stewart for years, and have appeared with her on both the red carpet and in a Vogue editorial.
